Professionals discussing documents in a bright meeting room

Field Audit Studio

Eight modules that turn merchant underwriting audits into a repeatable practice for fintech risk and ops teams.

What you will practice

Graduates leave able to scope a merchant sample, map each control to evidence, interview account owners without leading answers, and produce a write-up a second reviewer can challenge without reconstructing the file from scratch.

  • Design stratified samples for onboarding and periodic review
  • Score MCC and corridor risk with Korea-aware context
  • Build exception logs with owners, expiry, and re-test triggers
  • Write findings that separate observation, risk, and recommendation

Studio sequence

1. Audit intent and scope boundaries

Define what the review will and will not certify before sampling begins.

2. Merchant file anatomy

Walk KYB packets, beneficial ownership trails, and acceptance contracts as audit objects.

3. Sampling that respects volume

Build strata for high-MCC risk, new corridors, and previously waived merchants.

4. Control mapping worksheets

Pair each policy clause with an artifact type and a pass/fail threshold.

5. Interview craft for account owners

Prompt sequences that surface process reality without coaching the answer.

6. Exception Log Intensive

Design override records that auditors can re-test three months later.

7. Finding narratives

Separate fact, risk implication, and remediation ownership in one page or less.

8. Partner and regulator-facing summaries

Compress workpapers into briefing packs for acquiring partners without losing provenance.

Hana Seo

Former second-line reviewer for a Busan-based payment processor. Hana designed Automatedsystemspro’s control-mapping worksheets after watching underwriting teams lose hours reconstructing why a merchant was approved.

“Module 6 on exception logs is the piece we still use weekly. The partner summary module felt rushed for our volume, though—we needed a longer clinic.”
Sora K., compliance analyst — Incheon
★★★★☆ — “Sampling strata finally matched our marketplace aggregator book.”

FAQ

Is this a certification?

No. Field Audit Studio is a skills program. We do not issue regulator licenses or substitute for your firm’s formal certification paths.

Do you handle live merchant data?

No. Bring redacted files or use our anonymized packs. Uploading production PII to class channels is discouraged and may end your seat without refund for that module week.

What is a real limitation of the course?

We do not teach card-scheme rule memorization end-to-end. If your role is primarily scheme dispute coding, you will need a separate specialist track; we only cover how those signals appear inside underwriting audits.

Can we run this privately?

Yes. Institutional cohorts can schedule facilitation around your release calendar. See pricing or contact the Busan desk.
